Breaking: The CDC Advisory Committee on Immunisation Practices (ACIP) has voted 15-0 in the affirmative during a preliminary vote to add Covid-19 vaccines to the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program / federal childhood immunisation schedule.
The new federal guidance would allow States to make policy based on Federal CDC guidelines, with some experts and commentators suggesting that States could enforce mandates requiring Covid-19 vaccines to attend school.
The CDC was quick to point out in a tweet that the “CDC’s independent advisory committee (ACIP) will vote on an updated childhood immunisation schedule. States establish vaccine requirements for school children, not ACIP or CDC.”
